Bantering Ram Listening to this EP I have felt loss and I have felt life of my half a century of years. To call it “lovely” would be to merely mouth a platitude. It is not “lovely”. It is indescribably beautiful in the perverse way that deep melancholy can be. Favorite track: Football Season is Over.

about

Shipperman's debut EP traverses the alleys of beautiful and sombre, with street-worn agility. Made in a one-year period, Hymns for the Drunk has Sunneith Revankar recruit the services of Medddler's Angad Bhatia, Siddharth Basrur, and Ronin's Shezan Shaikh. The five songs have Revankar deliver an ethereal, honest vocal performance over a lush, dreamy soundscape that juxtaposes the dreary subject matter of the release. Hymns for the Drunk was written and recorded in Mumbai, India, and was mixed and mastered by Zorran Mendonsa in Auckland, New Zealand.
